How do I collect money from people participating in my group gift?

Wisheo makes it easy for you to collect funds directly into your Paypal account. All financial transactions between your group gift contributors and you occur securely through Paypal.

Can I use Wisheo if I do not currrently have a Paypal account?

Yes you can, however, before you can notify others to participate, Paypal will automatically create an account for you so that you can receive contributions from your friends and family. All funds contributed by others go directly to your Paypal account.

Does Wisheo charge me or my group gift participants any commission fees? Does Paypal charge me or my group gift participants any commission fees?

No, Wisheo is 100% free and does not charge any transaction fees to you or your participants. Paypal is free to use however they may charge transaction fees to your group gift participants. See more details at PayPal.

Once an item on my group gift list is fully funded, how do I get it?

Once an item is fully funded, the amount contributed by your friends is available to you on your Paypal account. All you need to do then is simply click on the "buy it now" button that will show up in your wishlist and complete your purchase transaction with the online retailer, using the payment method if your choice.

What happens if I receive more contributions than needed for a specific item on my wishlist?

If this happens, the excess funds will automatically spill over into the next item in your group gift list if you have one. If you only have one item in your group gift or if this is the last item being funded on your list, a new funding indicator will automatically be displayed under the current item and indicate funds available. In either case, the contributions always go directly into your Paypal account.

What happens if the item(s) on my group gift list doesn't get fully funded by the contribution's deadline?

Nothing: whatever funds were collected by then are available to you on your Paypal account. At that time, you can also choose to extend your wishlist's deadline if you would like to keep your it active to collect additional contributions.

How do I prevent some of my friends from seeing my group gift?

You can simply set your group gift as "private" instead of public". This can be done when you create your group gift, or you can also update this in the group gift "edit" menu. When your group gift is set to "private", only those friends and family members you've invited to participate will be able to view your group gift. When your group gift is set to public, anyone can view it.

Can my friends view how much other friends have contributed to items on my wishlist?

Absolutely! Once your friends have installed the Wisheo application, they simply can click on the "statistics" link of your group gift to have access to this information. This will be available to all your friends if your privacy status is set to public, but only to those friends you've invited to participate if your privacy status was set to private.

Can I invite friends outside Facebook to contribute to my group gift?

Absolutely! When you're ready to notify friends to participate in your group gift, you can add the names and email addresses of your friends outside Facebook and an email will be sent to them directly. You can also import emails directly from online mailing providers such as Yahoo or Gmail into your "My contacts" page.

I would like to raise money for my honeymoon trip to Hawaii, can I use Wisheo to do that?

You sure can! In fact, you've come to the right place as Wisheo will make this very easy and fun for you to organize! When you create your group gift and are ready to add an item, simply use the "add item information manually" feature so that you can customize the item description, price, picture, etc.

I want to change my Paypal account information, how do I do that?

Simply go to the "settings" menu and update your Paypal account info. A new verification email will be sent automatically so you can verify the account info.

When I contribute to my friend's group gift, where does my payment go?

Your payment goes straight to your friend's Paypal account. All transactions are securely handled via Paypal.

How safe will my payment transaction be?

All payment transactions are safely and securely handled by Paypal. See more details at Paypal.

I would like to contribute to my friend's group gift but I do not want others to see the exact amount I contributed. Does Wiseo let me do that?

Absolutely. We understand that some of us prefer to remain anonymous when participating in group gifts, that's why we give you the option to hide your contribution amount from others if you choose to do so. You can select this option at the time you make your contribution.
